Dr Rahim Sawani
GDC No. 75398
Hi, my name is Rahim and I am the co-principal dentist at Bramingham Dental Clinic. I took over the running of this practice back in 2003 together with my wife Mezmin.
After qualifying from Guy's Hospital in 1998, I entered general practice where I found my true vocation in life and have remained ever since. I have always found my job to be truly rewarding in many ways from looking after my patients with a view to prevention on a day-to-day basis to the more involved procedures like smile makeovers.
Mezmin and I got married in 2004 and since then have been blessed with 3 beautiful children – all boys (and NO, we are not going to try for a girl!) So you could say the last 13 years have been very eventful – and hectic.
I have always wanted to further my knowledge / career so once the children got a little bit older and life became a little more settled, I applied for a Master's Degree at GKT (King's, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals). This is one of the most prestigious post-graduate teaching hospitals in Europe and they receive applicants from all over the world. I was lucky enough to get one of the 30 places available. In December 2010 I passed my master's degree with Distinction!
I've always enjoyed improving smiles but have always been concerned about doing unnecessary treatment. This degree has taught me to be able to perform these procedures without damaging the teeth. I have also studied in depth the mechanics of biting and chewing and so can now provide much better, longer lasting restorations in the mouth with much better materials.
This has also meant that I really have put the emphasis on prevention with my care and right from our very first visit, I create an individual, bespoke preventative treatment plan for each of my patients. If you would like to take advantage of a much more advanced, comprehensive and modern approach to dental care, then please contact reception and book in a consultation appointment with me.
In my spare time I like to keep fit by playing football and going to the gym. And of course spending time with the family.
